C.J. and Friends
At
a book signing at The Book Cellar & Bible Outlet in Lancaster, PA with Gayle
Roper and Carol Wedevan. (My good friend and aspiring author Lori Fox took
the photo.) It was a fun experience!
Me
with fellow Tyndale House novelist Jeanette Windle (and Lance, The
Ocelot that Reads a Lot!). If you haven't read Jeanette's Veiled Freedom, I highly
recommend it. I interviewed her for TitleTrakk.com not that long ago. You can read that here.
Christian Writers Guild Writing for the Soul Conference 2009
Me
with Karen Watson (Director of Fiction at Tyndale House) and Jerry B. Jenkins. This was taken at the 2009 Writing for the Soul Conference---where I found out Thicker than Blood won Operation First Novel.
Here I am with suspense novelist Brandilyn
Collins,
also at the Writing for the Soul Conference.
She was teaching a track on fiction as well as running some first page
clinics.
Long before it was published, Brandilyn actually critiqued an early version of a scene in Thicker
than Blood on her blog. You can read that here.
Jerry
B. Jenkins holding the poster of my book cover right after they surprised
me with it on stage after announcing Thicker than Blood won Operation
First Novel.
I was still in shock at this point.
Me
with John Perrodin, Senior Editor at the Christian
Writers Guild. John
has co-written with Jerry B. Jenkins and wrote a great little book
called Simple Little Words with Michelle Cox. He's also written reviews
great reviews for us at TitleTrakk.com. It was nice to finally get
to meet him.
On
stage right before they announced the winner of Operation First Novel. Jerry
B. Jenkins is on the left, and to his right is Jan Watson. Her novel
Troublesome Creek won the 2004 Operation First Novel contest.
2007 winner Jennifer Erin Valent (Fireflies in December) is
standing beside her. 2006 winner Tom Pawlik (Vanish) is at the
far right.
And
here I am holding that same poster Jerry held onstage. Can you see
the excitement on my face? :)
